It has been a busy year, to say the least, here at Medic-CE. We have seen this company grow in ways that were unimaginable just 12 months ago. After joining efforts with Code3 CME in October 2016, Medic-CE and Code3 CME began 2017 by launching our NCCP-compliant VILT programs for the EMR, EMT, AEMT, and paramedic levels. With this partnership and launch, both platforms saw enrollment numbers of record levels.
After March 31 came and went, we moved to the second phase of our merger. Both the Medic-CE and Code3 CME platforms were combined into one, with a successful launch of the new learning management system (LMS) on June 12 that was a huge success. With this move, Medic-CE became the world’s first and only LMS system to house both self-paced and virtual, instructor-led training for EMS and fire professionals.
We also continued to make our programs and courses second to none throughout 2017, updating 13 courses while also releasing 12 new courses. And these numbers don’t include all of the existing courses that were accredited in states with their own accrediting entities. One of our greatest accomplishments for 2017 was achieving full accreditation for EMS providers in all 50 states as well as the District of Columbia.
To end the year with a bang, we announced our partnership with the Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS, Pennwell Publishing) in October. This partnership is an exciting turning point for us at Medic-CE as it enables us to work collaboratively with the JEMS staff to make our educational offerings better than ever. The curriculum will now be more interactive and will include the very best in science-based EMS practice.
In closing, we would be remiss to not mention all who have made this possible—those who continue to keep us moving each day. From our customer support staff to those in sales and marketing, Medic-CE would not be where it is today without all of these folks working behind the scenes. We are also incredibly grateful for the more than 20 educators we have on staff—who many of you see each and every day in our virtual classrooms. It is all of these individuals who empower us to set the industry standard in EMS education. And we are forever thankful for all of our students. We appreciate the trust you place in us as we seek to improve continuing education as well as the work you do saving lives on the front lines of our communities every day.
From all of us at Medic-CE, we thank you for your continuing support over the last year, and we look forward to serving your educational needs as we enter 2018.
